Abstract: Charred wood objects can retain important information about the object's original form, including clearly discernable carved surfaces. Nonetheless very little research has been conducted into the consolidation of charred wooden objects. This research is a preliminary investigation of the use of a thermoplastic resin as a consolidant for charred wood objects.
