Abstract: This paper offers a survey of photographic negative collections from 1925-1950. It focuses on the work of photojournalist, Eliot Elifoson and compares it to that of Harvey and Julius Patterson, John Frederick “Doc” McGregor, Harry Pennington, Harry Annas, and Jimmie Dodd. It also details the history of film in the 1930’s and 1940’s, focusing on film manufacturers, AGFA-ANSCO and Eastman Kodak.
