Managing Bookmarks with Keywords

Mozilla also allows you to assign Keywords to your Bookmarks.

Once you assign a keyword to one of your Bookmarks, you can type that keyword into the Location Bar at top, just as if it's a URL.  Mozilla will recognize your keyword and take you there right away.

To Assign a Keyword to a Bookmark:

  1. Open the Bookmarks menu and select Manage Bookmarks from the drop-down menu.
  2. A menu called Bookmark Manager will appear.
  3. Scroll down the list of Bookmarks and highlight the Bookmark you want to associate with a keyword.
  4. Click Properties.

  1. On the Properties form that appears, type your new keyword in the Keyword field.
  2. Click OK.

Now you can always type this keyword right into the Location Bar and Mozilla will treat the word just like any other URL, directing you right to your web page.
