Dreamweaver comes with a variety of button styles, including navigation tabs, playback controls, and ecommerce buttons, or you can create your own. Flash Button: Flash buttons are created from Flash templates that ship with Dreamweaver. The Flash button has a rollover effect and you can easily customize a template button and add it to your Web pages. To insert a Flash Button, go to insert > interactive images, and click on ¡§Flash Button¡¨. The Insert Flash Button window will open. You can select button style, type button text, choose font, size, and make a link. You can choose a background color and save this flash button as an easy-remembered name. If you want to link this flash button to our iSchool homepage, in button text, you can type ¡§UT iSchool¡¨. The link should be the full URL of our UT iSchool homepage. You can choose white background color, and save as ¡§iSchool.swf¡¨. Click on ¡§Apply¡¨ to view the button on your page. You can make any desired change and click ¡§apply¡¨ again to see the result. If you¡¦re satisfied, click ¡§OK¡¨. Then you¡¦ve added a flash button on your page.
You can create editable vector graphics directly in Dreamweaver with the Macromedia Flash Text feature. Flash Text allows you to design Web pages that use nonstandard fonts without worrying about which fonts visitors to your site have available on their computers. To insert Flash Text, in the Document window, place the insertion point where you want the object to appear. From the Dreamweaver menu bar, select: Insert > Interactive Images, and click on Flash Text. The Insert Flash Text window will open. You can select font, font attributes and colors; type desired text in the available box; fill in link, target, background color, and save as fields. You can choose another color as rollover color. For example, if you want to make Flash Text link to UT homepage, you can type ¡§UT Home¡¨ and change the size to 15. This link should be the full URL of UT homepage. You can choose white background color and save as ¡§UT.swf¡¨. Click Apply to view the text on your page. You can make any desired changes, clicking Apply to see the results. If satisfied, click OK. If you want to preview in a browser, go to file> preview in browser. Now you can see the rollover effect. When you click on it, it will link to the UT homepage.
